One stamp, two uses

I was doing a little creating yesterday with the following card. While I was stamping the sentiment, "Welcome Christmas into your heart," I was thinking to myself how I always want to keep the "Christ" in Christmas. Sometimes people use the term where they replace Christ with an X, and I really do not like that. Then it came to me that I could use this stamp another way.
I used my marker and just colored on the stamp directly coloring only the "Christ" in Christmas and stamped it that way. What a beautiful thought, "Welcome Christ into your heart!"

Just another way that stamps can have more than one purpose! This stamp is from the set called "Heard from the Heart."
Have a wonderful day!

Purse Tote

I saw this great idea on one of the blogs that I follow. I will post a link to the blog soon that gives the instructions on how to make this great tote. It is so easy and fun! It can hold gifts or cards or whatever! Thanks Lyssa! Here is the link: http://songofmyheartstampers.typepad.com/song_of_my_heart_stampers/2009/08/photo-tutorial-mega-tote-bag.html

Decor Elements

Hi!
Sorry I haven't posted recently. Someone hijacked my computer, so I was unable to log on to my blog. I am hoping all is fixed now.
Anyway, I wanted to post on my official Stampin' Up 5 year anniversary on Wednesday. I received my 5 year pin in the mail, so that is very exciting!
My daughter helped me to put up my beautiful Thoughts & Prayers decor elements tree on our dining room wall. It was great to have her help to get it centered and balanced properly. She noticed that it has 5 branches and decided that each one stands for one of our 5 children. She decided that the branch on the far right would be "her" branch. My youngest son claimed the one on the far left. I am sure the other kids will want to claim theirs when they come to visit next. Hmmm, maybe I can find a way to decorate it seasonally without harming the original.
I haven't decided if I will add some other pieces on the wall with the tree. I enjoy looking at it every time I sit down at the table!
If you are interested in finding out more about our decor elements line, just let me know! I can even have a decor elements workshop just for you!
I am in the process of being certified on the new MY DIGITAL STUDIO that is coming on October 1st! If you like the idea of digital scrapbooking, MDS takes it to the next level and enables you to make cards and books as well. Let me know if you are interested in a demonstration!
Have a great Friday!

Stamp 'n Chat card

This was my card for our monthly demonstrator stamp 'n chat. We had a holiday theme going. I believe this card is called a platform pop-up card. I used 2 stamp sets, Pumpkin Patch from the Holiday Mini, and a level 2 hostess set called The More the Merrier.

Money-holder Wallets

These are some money-holder wallet cards that I made recently. The sentiments in white are rub-ons from the Chit Chat Rub Ons. These rub-ons are so easy and fun to use! Each package contains nearly 200 sentiments. (about 90 each in white and Chocolate Chip)

Baby Bib Card

I needed a baby card for a new little baby girl, and I have been wanting to make a bib card. So here is my creation. It says "welcome little one" on the inside. Don't you just love the texture? It fits nicely into a normal A-2 envelope, and I will be adding it to a gift that I will be sending.

RMH Projects

Today was our monthly event at our local Ronald McDonald House. It was so awesome, because there were 4 demonstrators volunteering there today! We had a large group of people that were ready to jump in and start creating, so it was a fabulous day!
I decided to do some back-to-school type projects. I tend to do the projects geared toward the kids, but the adults like them too.
The first one is a pencil topper. They had their choice of many different stamps, but I am showing just a sampling here.

The project below is a bag tag or backpack ID tag. The opposite side has lines to write your name, address, and phone #.

This last project is a note pad holder. On the inside it has a 3 x 5 tablet and a pocket to hold notes or receipts.

I think the families had a lot of fun today with so many projects to choose from. The other volunteers made some wonderful cards with the families.

Some New Creations

I have been doing a little creating lately in the few moments of free time that I have. I made another card using the technique I showed you the other day.

The card below was made using the new embossing folder from the Holiday Mini catalog. It is called Petals-a-Plenty. I also used the new ornament punch from the mini and stamped on it using white craft ink and the Boho Blossoms stamp set. Normally I don't use pink at the holidays, but I have seen some lovely cards lately using some different color combos that I thought would be worth trying.

The earrings below were inspired by the creations showcased at Convention last month. I used the metal edged tags. I stamped Whisper White cardstock with Bashful Blue using the Razzle Dazzle Stamp set and punched it out with the 1 1/4" circle punch. I embossed the entire circle with the Glassy Glaze Enamel embossing powder twice to give it a shiny appearance. Then I attached the circles to the metal edged tags using crystal effects. These earrings are very light weight and fun to wear!

Some New Projects!

Isn't this basket cute? I used the new Stampin' Up sizzix dies Fancy Favor and Flower Folds. I also used one of my crocheted fleurettes for the center of the flower. The colors I used are Rose Red and Regal Rose, and I used the Rich Razzleberry dotted ribon on the handle. A fun little basket to fill with treats for someone special!

The card below was inspired by a swap I received at Convention from Carolee Crabb. The tree is made using one scalloped circle punch cut into the layers shown. I tipped the edges of the branches with the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint from the new mini catalog.

And lastly, I just couldn't resist putting this one in too. I was going through my kid's baby books and such, and found some leftover baby announcements that had this cute little baby basket on the front. I punched it out and decided to use it on a card. The scalloped edging was made by using our scalloped edge border on a straight piece of cardstock and then running it through the paper crimper. Then you carefully edge around the oval tacking it down with Sticky Strip. Voila! A lovely scalloped edge for any shape or size!

Hope you all have a great Wednesday!

September Special!!

Aren't these cards just gorgeous? The technique for the background paper came from Gretchen Barron. You can see her beautiful samples here http://gretchenbarron.typepad.com/my_weblog/2009/08/bride-paper-resist.html. I had made a bunch of the roses with the watercolor re-inker technique, so I decided this would be a perfect place for them. Now I am all set with some lovely wedding cards.
Would you like to learn these techniques? Just host a workshop and I can show you and your friends how to make these lovely cards too.

It is September 1st, and the new Holiday Mini Catalog is online! Just hop on over to my website and take a look!
Don't forget, this is my anniversary month, and all merchandise orders over $25 placed with me directly will get a $5 discount!
