I made this fun little owl card using the owl from the Fox & Friends stamp set. I inked up an acrylic block with Marina Mist and stamped it to get the shaded looking background behind the owl.
My youngest daughter works as a program assistant at a place called the Macdonald Center that "enhances the lives of the forgotten poor through relationships, service, and housing." She asked if I would be willing to make and donate birthday cards, because they like to give cards to their members on their birthdays. They used to have another woman doing this, but she is no longer able to do it. I was thrilled that she asked me to help out! I love to create and share my creations, as I do with the Ronald McDonald House, so I said an enthusiastic "yes!" This card shown above was the first card I made and have been working on others to send to her. I have admired my daughter's dedication to help the people in society that are often forgotten or looked down upon. She is truly an inspiration, and I am so happy to be able to help in this small way.
I encourage everyone to find a way to share your joy of creating with others as well, in whatever way you are able.
Have a great weekend!
Just a reminder that there are less than 2 weeks left to purchase items from the Occasions Mini Catalog. The last day for purchase is April 30th!
Starting May 1st, our new Summer Mini will be in effect. Contact me for your free copy of this mini catalog.
At our monthly demonstrator stamp 'n chat Thursday evening, my friend, Marisa, showed us all how to make these cute clutch purses using only a 6 x 6" paper. I will post the step by step directions at a later time. I don't know who the original artist is, but if I do find out, I will post that.
I also made a sample with handles as a variation.
I recently watched a video on how to make this cute box. (It was demonstrated on Splitcoast stampers by Kim Score. See the instructions here--http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/pentagontreattube/)
The box is great for holding candies like Lindor's truffles. I think 4 of them will fit in there.
For the flower decoration, I used 2 scalloped circles, cut a quarter in on each one and did an accordian fold. I attached the two circles together to make the flower shape, and then added a pearl to the center, and attached using a stampin' dimensional.
I used this idea for our monthly demonstrator stamp 'n chat.
Note: I actually changed the design of this a bit for our chat. I used a different decoration for the side--I have posted that here:
Also, you may want to check out Julie Beltramo's creation with this idea here:

I purchased this new die from Sizzix. Their sample shows it using fabric, but I wanted to do with paper, so this is my sample. I stuffed it with tissue paper. I think it would look cute as a package topper.
This was actually my first basket. I like the bright colors and used the large circle instead of the flower for the bottom. See the tutorial listed previously on how to make this basket.
This was the birthday card I made for my hubby. He was pretty "wowed" by it.
This is the mini Easter basket we made at Ronald McDonald House yesterday. I used the Petal Cone die and cut off the bottom tip. The Easter grass holds the candy eggs inside.
This is a little 3 x 3 mini card I made using the designer series paper In Colors paper pad that is a level one hostess gift. The bright Poppy Parade is so cheerful!
Here is another My Digital Studio creation. To make the cross shape, I used the modern label punch in MDS and filled in with colors. Ask me how I got that splotch design in there!!
