Mother's Day Card

This is a Mother's Day card that I created using the Manhattan Flower Embossing folder from Stampin' Up. I inked up the folder before placing the glossy paper inside to run through the big shot to emboss. The result is a perfectly colored in image. The color used for this card is Cameo Coral, and the sentiment was stamped in Ruby Red.

Mother's Day Gift Box

Mother's Day Gift Box

Above is my Mother's Day gift box. The cube contains 8 mini 3 x 3" note cards with envelopes. There are 2 of each card inside.
I used a cube die from Sizzix to make the box. It is great because all of the Sizzix dies work in my Big Shot! The cardstock used is Pink Pirouette and Whisper White. I used the Hostess Pack Designer Series Paper in Regal Rose. I used the Oval All stamp set, scallop oval punch, and white satin ribbon from the Occasions Mini Catalog. I used the eyelet border punch for the edges.

Here is a view of the inside of the box. I used a magnet closure.
I think any Mom would love to receive this for Mother's Day. Don't you agree?

Watercolor Re-inker Rose Card

Isn't this rose realistic? I created it using the watercolor re-inker technique. You can view a video on how to do it yourself at http://pattystamps.com/pattys_stamping_spot/2009/04/watercolor-roses-technique-and-video-tutorial.html.
I made this card for my sister Terry's birthday on Saturday. She is an avid rose gardener and collector, and I know she will love it.
The rose is mounted on one of the papers from the Taste of Textiles designer series paper. I used the Stampin' Up little leaves die on Always Artichoke cardstock for the leaves and mounted it all on Cameo Coral Cardstock. I used rose red, regal rose, and so saffron re-inkers to color the rose.
Want to see an in-person demonstration? Give me a holler and we can plan a workshop together!

Matchbox Die Drawers

The new matchbox die from Stampin' Up makes the cutest little matchboxes, and if you stack them up and decorate them, you can make a sweet little chest of drawers. What a fun gift, don't you think? You can see more ideas here: http://gretchenbarron.typepad.com/my_weblog/2009/03/new-matchbox-die-treasure-chests.html.
I will be posting some other samples soon.

Top Note Pizza Box

I saw these cute boxes on Splitcoast Stampers and also on Stamp Scrap Diva's blog, http://stampscrapdiva.blogspot.com/2009/04/happy-easter-box.html. This was just a first try--I plan to make more and add way more embellishments. Here is a link to a tutorial on how to assemble this box: http://schwooo.blogspot.com/2008/09/spooky-week-day-3-top-note-treat-holder.html

A Few New Ideas

I guess I went a little crazy creating these simple and fun new cards. I got the idea for the pattern from Stampin' Up demonstrator Tammy File. She presented this idea as a workshop wow at the Albuquerque, New Mexico regional. I didn't go to NM, but I got to see the projects on our demonstrator website. She used rainbow colors of cardstock in her pattern. The pattern is made using the word window punch from Stampin' Up! I just received some of the new incentive stamps and used some of those on these cards. If you want one of these stamps, just book a workshop with me and you can earn one yourself! Contact me for details! Or if you would like to see all the wonderful ideas that demonstrators share with one another on the demonstrator website, contact me on how to become a demonstrator so you, too, can see these fabulous ideas!

Rectangle Coaster Projects

At our Demonstrator Stamp 'n Chat last evening, one of the themes was to use our recently purchased rectangle coasters in different ways. Some of the ways I came up with are shown above. The one with the blue birdie on it was the one I did with the group and it is a mini photo album.

Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions Folder

I just love the new Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions Folder from Stampin' Up!
The above card was inspired by my stamping buddy, Lynda Lee. You can see her original creations here--http://stampingdoc.blogspot.com/2009/03/manhatten-flower-embossing-folder.html
I used the Fifth Avenue Floral Stamp set for the inside of the card.

Easter Basket

I got the idea for this Easter Basket from another talented Stampin' Up demonstrator named Kay Sha. The directions from her blog are here: http://creationsonpaper.blogspot.com/2009/03/basket-basket-basket.html.
I changed it around a bit and did this project with the Ronald McDonald House families yesterday. We put green paper grass and candies inside. It was a big hit!
It is made using the Sizzix Box #2 die from Stampin' Up. There are 2 of them and instead of tucking in the flap, the flaps are adhered together to make the handle and then punched with the large oval punch.

Scallop Circle Card

This fun card style was inspired by Linda Aarhus of Vancouver, Washington. I used the Scallop Circle Sizzix dies offered by Stampin' Up. I also used the Fifth Avenue Floral Stamp Set from the Spring/Summer catalog and the Wagon Full of Fun Stamp Set from the Occasions Mini catalog.
