Hope we have a good turnout today. :-)

Thanksgiving Table setting

I enjoy making fun table setting pieces for our holiday meals. These are the ones that I made for our Thanksgiving feast this year. Each of the pumpkin boxes contained a yummy chocolate mint.

Holiday Stamp Camp Card #2

Once a month I get together with other Stampin' Up demonstrators in my area to exchange fun ideas by doing a shoebox swap. This card was inspired by one of the demos, Sandy Fowler. I changed it up a bit, but loved her idea, so here it is. This is another card we will make at the Holiday Stamp Camps.

Card from Holiday Stamp Camp

This is one of the cards we will be making at the Holiday Stamp Camps. The inspiration for this card came from 2 talented Stampin' Up demonstrators, Jan Timko and Alesha White. I decided to use the new pewter embossing powder rather than white and love the look!

Gift Card Holder from Holiday Stamp Camp

This is the fun gift card holder we will be making at the Holiday Stamp Camps.
What a fun way to give a gift card, don't you agree? Also good as a "stocking stuffer."

Tags from Holiday Stamp Camp

These are the tags we will be making at the Holiday Stamp Camps that I am holding on November 20th and December 11th. We will be making 2 each of them. I used the stocking builder punch and the pennant punch for these tags. Don't you just love the tiny jingle bell on the stocking? I had to use a needle threader to get the baker's twine through the top hole. :-)
If you would like to join me for one of the camps, just let me know. We will be making 8 cards (2 each of 4 designs), 4 tags (2 each of 2 designs) and a gift card holder. I will post a few more sneak peeks over the next few days to entice you! The fee for the camp is $25.

Demonstrator Stamp 'n Chat Card

Here is my card from last evening's demonstrator stamp 'n chat. I got the idea for this cute matryoshka girl from a talented demonstrator on Stampin' Connection. It uses the large oval punch, the owl builder punch, and the 1 inch circle punch. I used the Holly Berry Bouquet Designer Series paper for both the girl's dress as well as the background (3 x 3" square). It is mounted on Cherry Cobbler cardstock. I also used Chocolate Chip cardstock for the head scarf, Basic Black textured cardstock for the hair, and Very Vanilla cardstock for the face. I used markers to draw the facial features. Don't you just love the shine of the Cherry Cobbler quilted satin ribbon? The Merry Christmas stamp is from the Hand-Penned Holidays set embossed in gold.

Ronald McDonald House Thanksgiving Cards

Here are the choices that the family members had for our event yesterday. We had a great group! I think the colder, rainy weather kept more people inside and ready for something fun!
It is always super when we have a lot of family members who join us!

Happy Birthday card for a Special Friend

This is a card that I made for a Special Friend's birthday. I purchased a new pear die and I think it works really well on this card. I hope she will like it!

Fun Halloween Card

This was a fun Halloween card for my newest grandson. I had some fun puffy stickers that I used on this. It was perfect because I didn't have to mail it and pay the extra postage for the added dimension because they live so close by and I could give it to them in person.

Sorry I've been out of the Loop

I am sorry that I haven't posted in awhile. I was quite busy with a very fun visit from my oldest daughter and her two sons. We had such a fun time getting together and sharing time with my second daughter and her son. Grandchildren are so much fun!

I have also been continuing my job search, which also keeps me busy.

I will be posting some cards soon for my upcoming Holiday Stamp Camp. I will be offering several dates and several cards to choose from. Please check back soon for these updates! :-)

Ronald McDonald House Project

This was the project that I did with the Ronald McDonald House families yesterday. A lollipop is hiding behind the pumpkin--you can see the stick coming out from the top with the owl on it. Nothing fancy, but just something fun for the kids.

Project for Stamp Camp

This is the project for our stamp camp this weekend. It has pockets on 2 sides to hold the cards that we will be making.

Fourth Card for our camp

I love this new stamp from the holiday mini called Leaves of a Tree so much that I have used it on two of the cards for the camp. This tree is stamped in versamark ink and then I used chalk pastels to color it in.

I am still working on the project for the camp, but will post a photo as soon as I have it all set.

Another card for the stamp camp

Here is another card we will be making at our stamp camp on the 2nd. I just love this beautiful new designer series paper called Well Worn.

Fall Stamp Camp on October 2nd

I am planning a stamp camp for October 2nd from 1-4 pm at my home. We will be making 4 cards and a project for $15. The previous post shows the first card that we will be making which is a Halloween card. The above card is the second card we will be making. Stay tuned for more cards this week.

Demonstrator Stamp 'n Chat Card

This was my card for last evening's demonstrator stamp 'n chat. I got the idea for the pennant candy corn from a sticker that I saw at the local craft store. Click on the picture to see it close up and you will see the spider web embossing on the black card.

Fun with scraps

This is a fun way to use up scrap strips of coordinating paper! Also if you just want to cut the strips and make the design. Some of the papers have a shiny surface, so it adds to the texture. Another sample is shown below.

Re-using for a fun card

This tag was attached to a beach towel that I purchased for my son who will be going away to college soon. The tag was so cute that I couldn't throw it away. I tied some ribbon in the hole in the top, added a greeting, and mounted it onto card stock. Voila! A fun under the sea card made from a recycled tag!

Ruby and Emma

We took care of Ruby while our daughter was at the hospital having our newest grandson. Here, she and Emma are sharing Emma's bed, sitting in the sun near the back sliding glass door. The shadow kind of hides Emma, but she looks so cute with her head down, relaxing. Ruby had her head down too, but then looked up when I started taking photos.

Ronald McDonald House Projects

Here are the projects that I did for the Ronald McDonald House today. The families were all out having fun in the sun, so we didn't have any takers for our projects. When this happens, we make them up and leave them at the front desk for the families to pick up later.

Baby Banner

Here is a banner I made for my newest grandson! If you click on the picture, it should come up a little bigger so that you can see the detail. I used the new Stampin' Up Big Shot pennant die for both the triangle shapes as well as the doily shapes. It took me a while to die cut everything and assemble it, but it was definitely a labor of love! :-)

Birthday card for a friend

This is a birthday card that I made for a friend who has a birthday next week. I used a new embossing folder and adding some sparkles to the butterflies. It is hard to capture the sparkle in a photo, but it is very pretty and I hope she will like it.

Another verson of Stamp 'n chat card

On Friday I went to the Scrapbook Expo at the Santa Clara County Convention Center. My favorite booths are the ones with dies and embossing folders. So, of course, I couldn't resist a few new ones. I had some materials left from the stamp 'n chat, so I decided to use some of my new things to make another card. The embossing folder is a Sizzix embossing folder, and the scalloped oval on the front of the card is from the new nesting thin dies from Sizzix as well. I have a few other items that I purchased and I am having fun creating some new cards. I am planning some for the Macdonald Center, so I can give them to my daughter when I see her next.

New Punch Sneak Peek

The above card uses a new punch that will be available starting Sept. 1st! This stocking punch is so cute! It has 4 parts that punch so that you can add the contrast for the toe, heel, and upper band. There is also a stamp set to match! Holiday cards and tags this year are going to be so much fun!!

Card From Stampin' Up!

I received this hand-made card from Stampin' Up on Thursday with a hand-written note inside thanking me for all of my work with the Ronald McDonald House. It was signed by three people, including Shelli! I was surprised and pleased. I intend to share it with my fellow demonstrators who help at the Ronald McDonald House at Stanford.

Demonstrator Stamp 'n Chat Card

This is the card I made for last evening's demonstrator stamp 'n chat. I used some fun new items from the catalog, and one new item from the upcoming holiday mini. New items from the catalog are the new Striped Embossing Folder, Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon, and the new hostess set--Precious Butterflies. The sparkly silver circle is the new silver glimmer paper that will be available starting Sept. 1st. I love it because it is actually more clear sparkle than silver. It is going to be wonderful to use on holiday cards!!
