Embossing on Napkins

Did you know that you can emboss on napkins? I got this idea from Stampin' Up Demonstrator, Monika Davis at http://monikastamp.wordpress.com/. I used the Spider Web textured embossing folder on this black napkin. I am planning to do this with many different embossing folders on a bunch of napkins in varying colors to have on hand for all of the upcoming holidays. What fun!

Elegant Lines Embossing Folder Cards

I just love the Elegant Lines Embossing folder. I used it here with the Shimmery White cardstock for 2 looks--one with pearls and one with rhinestones. I plan to use them for wedding or anniversary cards, so I left the greeting off for now. They are elegant with just the one layer, don't you think?

Simple no-stamping card

This is a simple card with no stamping involved. I just used the Autumn Spice Designer Series paper to make the center of these flowers.
Please note that the stamp camp originally scheduled for Thursday, September 23rd has been canceled.

Rich Razzleberry Embossed Card

I have been experimenting with different ideas with embossed images and here is a sample of something I tried. Rich Razzleberry is one of my favorite colors and the color truly is rich. The pearls also add a richness to this card. I left it rather plain on the front and the greeting will go on the inside of the card.

Growing Green

The stamp set I used for this card is called Growing Green. It has some lovely images, and this fern leaf is one of them. This is a very simple card, but has some shading dimension that makes it more interesting. The little bit of bling on the corners is a nice added touch.

Card #3 from upcoming stamp camp

It's sometimes funny when you are trying hard to design a card with a stamp set that you really like, but just can't seem to get one together that makes you completely satisfied. I just love the new Paisley Prints stamp set, but didn't want my customers to have to cut anything out. So by using the heart stamp, they can punch it out using the large heart punch. I hope they do like this card! :-)

Card #2 from upcoming stamp camp

Here is another card from the upcoming stamp camp on the 19th. I used the Day of Gratitude stamp set as well as the Hostess level 1 stamp set Afterthoughts. The lovely Autumn Spice Desiger Series Paper is so elegant, and the gold embossing and adhesive pearl just add the right touches to the card.

Sunshine Award

A few weeks ago, my good stamping friend and fellow demonstrator, Lynda Lee (www.stampingdoc.blogspot.com) gave me the Sunshine Award.

The requirements of this reward are to:
1. Put the Sunshine Award on your blog.
2. Pass the award to 12 other bloggers who have inspired your creativity.
3. Link the nominees within your post and let them know they received this award.
4. Link to the person from whom you received the award.

*******************************

I had a challenging time to come up with my list, because many of the people who inspired Lynda (and she already awarded with the Sunshine Award), are also people who have inspired me. So I had to come up with some additional names, which was a fun proposition.

So my list is as follows (in no particular order, because I admire you all!) and congrats to you all!

Paula Goff http://inkingaddict.blogspot.com/

Donna Centamore http://butternutsagedesigns.blogspot.com/

Lisa Brown http://www.inkandinspirations.com/

Lucia Dawe http://www.stampinwithlucia.com/

Jill Hilliard http://jill031070.blogspot.com/

Julie Beltramo http://justjulieb30.blogspot.com/

Brenda Keenan http://keenankreations.blogspot.com/

Patty Bennett http://pattystamps.com/

Lyssa Zwolanek http://songofmyheartstampers.typepad.com/

Beverlee Morales http://stampinalldaywithbev.blogspot.com/

Pennie McCallum http://penniemccallum.typepad.com/

Tami Waddell http://tamiwaddellcreates.typepad.com/

Thank you so much Lynda!! And another big thank you to all of these inspiring women!!
Whoo-Hooo! :-)

Birthday gift card holder

This is a birthday gift card holder that I made for my son's birthday. It has a fun little pocket inside (a little hard to see in this photo) that can hold the gift card.
This particular gift card holder was made using a Sizzix big shot die. (Stampin' Up also has a cool gift card holder big shot die that pops up when you open the card.)
I think he will like that it looks manly and doesn't have all the fru-fru (sp?) on it that most cards have.

Card from upcoming Stamp Camp

The above card is one of the cards we will be creating in my upcoming Stamp Camp this Sunday. It uses a stamp from the new stamp set in the Holiday Mini called Day of Gratitude. Actually 3 of the 4 cards in this camp will be using stamps from this stamp set in varying ways.
Participants will have a choice of greetings they can add to the inside of the card if they wish.

Coming October 1st--The Enjoy Every Moment Blog Tour!!

Hi All!
Just wanted to let you know that on October 1st I will be hosting the first Enjoy Every Moment Blog Tour!
So far we have 9 talented Stampin' Up Demonstrators who will be participating in our tour! Please mark your calendars for this special event!

Just a little update

Sorry I haven't posted any projects lately. I am getting ready for some stamp camps and the blog tour, so I am saving those projects for a bit later.

I also have been busy with a wonderful visit from our oldest daughter and our darling grandson recently. What fun that was!!

Also, our son who is in the seminary in Rome was in the U.S. for the summer, and even though most of his time was spent up in the Sacramento area, we did get to see him at the beginning and end of his time here and I took him to the airport on Friday to return to Rome.

So we have had a busy and fun time at our home celebrating our family visits! But, alas, they are gone now, so it is time to get back down to business.

There is still room in the upcoming stamp camp next Sunday at 1 pm at my home. We will be creating 8 cards (2 each of 4 styles). RSVP today and join us for a fun afternoon!

This photo is of our little place-cards I used for an early birthday celebration for our son before he went back to Rome. I found the clips at Office Depot and created the little tags using some tiny cupcake punches that I had.

Ronald McDonald House Projects for September

This is the first project we will be doing at the Ronald McDonald House today. It is a very simple 3x6 card. There are 8 sentiments to choose from. I used the stamp set, Pun Fun.

This is the other project we will be doing at the Ronald McDonald House today. It is a bank! I like to plan projects that are good for kids and I thought this might be a fun one for them to save up their money for holiday gifts or to save their coins to donate to a favorite charity.
