Just a Note

Sorry there haven't been any posts this past week. We were on Spring Break, and took our youngest son to look at colleges. Hard to believe it's almost time to be an empty nest.
Anyway, I missed stamping while I was gone, but will hopefully have some new cards up soon. I start a new job tomorrow, so I may be too tired to do any creating, but then again, I may be inspired.
Thanks for your patience. :-)
Here is a card from long ago that was made before I had a blog. The idea is still useful, just using some different designer series paper.

Swap Card

I went to a meeting in Tracy of my third upline, Beverlee yesterday. We had a swap with the theme, bright and cheery. My creation is above. It was inspired by another demonstrator who made a card similarly, but with hearts, and it was a square card without a greeting. It is always fun to get inspiration from others and then change them a bit to make them your own. It is definitely a bright card. Do you need sunglasses to look at it? LOL.
Have a good Sunday!

Card Folio

This is a card folio that I created for our monthly demonstrator stamp 'n chat. I will also be featuring this project in my next workshop in May. We will make 4 cards to go inside the folio. Check my website for the details. I am still working on the card designs, but I will post those soon. Have a happy Saturday!

Anniversary Card

This is a card that I created using the watercolor re-inker technique and the sponge resist technique. I sent this card to my daughter and her husband for their wedding anniversary.
Would you like to learn how to do these techniques? Book a workshop with me and I can show you and your friends how to do these gorgeous techniques!

Ronald McDonald House Project

At the Ronald McDonald House on Saturday, we made a fun egg-shaped Easter card. I wanted to show the kids the possibilities, so I made up a full sample, and then just some card fronts to give them ideas. They had fun stamping all over the cards and envelopes. We had a good group, at least 8 or 9 kids! I like to keep the projects simple so that the little ones can do them too!

Mini photo album

I saw a cute video on how to make a mini photo album using coin envelopes. It was on Jan Tink's blog, and also on Splitcoaststampers.com. Here is the link to her blog that you can paste into your browser:
http://stampspaperscissors.typepad.com/stamps_paper_scissors/2010/03/the-teeny-tiny-scrapbook.html.

Anyway, I didn't have any coin envelopes, so I decided to change things up quite a bit and make my version of this little album. So far I haven't gotten around to decorating the inside pages, but I wanted to share it before I forgot about it. On the outside cover, I used rub-ons for the designs. I basically used the scalloped bag die and cut the top and bottom edges and placed an accordion pleat between them to attach the inner cards to on the inside. I used the hugs die cut cards from the Occasions mini to be the pages. I just trimmed a little off of the edge at the bottom (about 1/2 inch) so it would attach smoothly to the pleat, and also so it would fit into the album.
I am planning to add a little something on the front on top of the scallop and, of course, decorate the inside. Your suggestions are also welcome!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!
